Celebrate your day! (Penny Black)

by Kylie

Hi Everyone,

Today I am sharing card two in my Card Challenge with Elle. (To see card one, please click here.) We have challenged ourselves to create three cards using only one paper pad and one stamp set. It’s a bit of a twist on Elle’s Stamp Trio Challenge which is another fantastic challenge. I’d encourage anyone to play along (with either challenge). If you do, please link to your blog in the comments below as I would LOVE to see how you are tackling this challenge.

I’m using the Sweet & Cute stamp set from Penny Black and the Sugar Shoppe 6×6 Paper pad from doodlebug design inc.

Card two was actually the second stamp I pulled out to use so I guess it is fitting I am sharing it as the second card. lol I thought it would look great as a little scene highlighted by the lovely orange and pink coloured papers from the Sugar Shoppe paper pad. I used a fairly traditional design as I didn’t want to overwhelm the stamped image. I used orange and pink as highlights for the cupcake, flowers and the party hat to try and tie it all together. Overall it is a nice little card.

Here’s the card…

Celebrate Your Day! Materials used: Stamps – Sweet & Cute (Penny Black); Designer Paper – Sugar Shoppe 6×6 Paper Pad (doodlebug design inc.); Cardstock – doodlebug design inc.; Mini Pearls - Spring Assortment (doodlebug design inc.); Copic Markers; Dies – Silhouette and Wink of Stella.

I have a feeling that Card Three is going to be somewhere between the two already created. Will be interesting to see if I’m right. lol I’d better go get started on it.

Happy Stamping!

You have been crafting up a storm, my friend, and I’ve fallen behind with comments again! Now, I’ll have to respectfully disagree with your “nice little card” assessment, because it far surpasses “nice”! It’s absolutely darling, classy and scrumptious! I’m seconding Bev’s request that you do a colouring tutorial for us; you have such incredible talent and we’d so enjoy seeing your behind-the-scenes process that results in these works of art! Loving the critters…cupcake craving full-on!

I’m still in awe of your coloring skills. You really should do a video about how you color your images. Love this one. Your little flower stamps match your dp, too, now how clever is that???!!! And three little pearls to top it all off, well, this is just the sweetest card. Another amazing creation. : )

Aww, you are the sweetest, Bev! Thank you! I did set up a tripod with a camera but I still haven’t quite mastered it all. One day! 🙂 hugs!!

It’s a traditional design, maybe, but it’s beautiful and the colors make it very trendy! I love the orange (looks a bit coral on my screen, which makes it even more charming), and your coloring is of course amazing. I adore that little hedgehog! Loving the paper choice, too. It fits perfectly! 😀

The colours in the paper pad are just divine, Elle! So bright and happy! I wanted to re-work it when I saw it this morning but I resisted. haha Just need to make another one. 🙂 Thank you for your lovely comments. Can’t wait to see your next card too. This is such a great challenge! hugs!
