You Make Me Smile (KaiserCraft)

by Kylie

Hi Everyone,

I *had* to pop into the KaiserCraft warehouse last week because…well, I was in the area. lol Whilst there I picked up the Fly Free stamp set as I had an idea for using the birds in the set. I thought the butterflies would be fun to use too. Skip to today, and I haven’t used the birds or the butterflies but I have used the flower which also came in the set. I stamped it out just to see what it was like. I scribbled some colour onto it and I *loved* how it looked. Next thing you know I have four cards to share – all have started with the same base but they are all finished differently. I *love* stamps! Just think how many different cards you can make using this stamp. I haven’t even ventured into using different colours (colouring mediums, techniques, papers, cardstock, etc) on the flowers so the possibilities for this stamp set seem endless.

Here are the cards…

You Make Me Smile Materials used: Stamps - Fly Free (KaiserCraft); Cardstock - Knights Smooth, Unknown; Decorative Paper - Fly Free (KaiserCraft); Dies - Pierced Rectangle Stax (MFT); Rhinestones (KaiserCraft); Copic Markers, Ribbon - Black (KaiserCraft) and Wink of Stella.

Card two is my favourite…

With card three, I had the idea of adding ribbon across the panel but I didn’t have the perfect match. Went looking through the stash and found some older Mrs Grossman Design Lines stickers – perfect!

For card four, I had thought a banner in black with a white sentiment might look good. Decided to keep the rest of the card very simple.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you enjoy seeing my cards! I’m off to try and make a card using one of the birds in the Fly Free stamp set! Hope you all have a great day!

Happy Stamping!

(P.S. I’m sorry the photographs are a little blown out. I usually create at night after work so I have trouble with lighting and the photographs look dark. Today, since I had daylight at my disposal, I took the photographs outside but I think the white blew out the colours. Sorry!)

KYLIE! What a gorgeous set of cards you’ve made from this single floral image! Stunning, especially with the pink/white background panels. These would make a fabulous gift set! I’m not sure which I like best, although the one with the black/white striped border is quite the looker! The entire set sure offers wonderful possibilities; the butterflies, of course, captured my heart. As for the birds, they, too, are pretty but…given that I’m scared of birds (except cutie-pie ones like Technique Tuesday’s chickadees or Paper Smooches), I wouldn’t use them. You, I know, will breathe life into them in some special, fantastic way! Heading back to gaze and admire these pink lovelies a bit longer…

What a lovely and feminine set of cards! I love how the coloring turned out on the flowers, too. They seem so versatile, too – birthday, congrats, even condolences. I love when stamps are like that. 🙂
