Hi Everyone,
What do you do when you stamp up and colour some images (which you are reasonably happy with) and then you go blank on how to finish off your cards? That’s the situation I found myself in after my last post. I had coloured in a couple of images but when I went to finish off the cards I didn’t like any of the papers I chose or designs, etc I came up with. It was tempting just to put them aside and move onto something else but I feared that I might never return to them. I sucked it up and just assembled them. They may not be my favourite cards and they may not have any real flair to them but they are done. 🙂
I used the Gorjuss stamp set “Ruby” which is so cute. Decided to see how she would look if I water coloured her with distress markers and then coloured using copics. I stayed rather true to the colours displayed on the stamp set. Room for improvement with both but it is a start. Think I am getting better with skin tones, hair shading and shadows too. So yay!
Here’s the first card…

I Love You
Materials used: Stamps – Ruby (Docrafts/Gorjuss), In My Heart (Mama Elephant), Stinkin’ Cute (Simon Says Stamp); Distress Inks, Distress Markers; Designer Paper – Hello Sunshine (KaiserCraft) and Wink of Stella.
And here’s the second card…

Gorjuss
Materials used: Stamps – Ruby (Docrafts/Gorjuss); Copic Markers; Designer Paper – Favourite Things (Heidi Swapp); Distress Ink (Ranger); Ribbon (American Crafts).
The above cards were a great learning experience for me in many ways. I thoroughly enjoyed colouring them both – playing with watercolours and then seeing if I could create the same/better/different look using copics. The putting the card together bit though…was less satisfying. Perhaps next time I’ll begin with the end in mind. lol
Happy Stamping!
