On Top of the World (Gorjuss)

by Kylie

Hi Everyone,

A while ago I purchased the Gorjuss – On Top of the World stamp set. Not long after I saw some other card makers had used this stamp set and I thought, “Oh I cannot do anything as lovely as that” and so it went back into the stash. Such a silly attitude! Recently when flicking through my stamps I came across it again and thought it was about time I used it! Even better, I had quite a number of ideas running through my mind. Hooray! So, today, I am sharing FOUR cards using this gorgeous stamp set.

Here’s card one…

For this card, I stayed with the original intention of the stamp set. The little gorgeous girl is sitting on a wire in the sky with her little bird friends. I used the sentiment which came with the set.

On Top of the World Materials used: Stamps - On Top of the World (Gorjuss/DoCrafts); Cardstock - American Crafts, Knights Smooth; Dies - Die-namics Blueprints 22 (MFT); Rhinestones - Clear (KaiserCraft); Copic Markers, Distress Inks and Wink of Stella.

While I was colouring the above card, it crossed my mind that with a few lines, the little girl could easily be sitting on some stairs…and card idea number two was born.

Hello Friend Materials used: Stamps - On Top of the World (Gorjuss/DoCrafts), Crazy Talk (Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous); Cardstock - American Crafts, Knights Smooth; Designer Paper - Black & White (Glitz); Dies - Die-namics Blueprints 13 (MFT), Die-namics Blueprints 20 (MFT); Copic Markers, Distress Inks, and Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers.

So why stop at stairs? Maybe the little girl could be sitting on a brick wall?

Here’s the card…

Hello Sweet Friend Materials used: Stamps - On Top of the World (Gorjuss/DoCrafts), Six-Sided Sampler (Stampin' Up!); Cardstock - American Crafts, Knights Smooth; Designer Paper - Black & White (Glitz); Copic Markers, Distress Inks, and Distress Markers.

And just when I was going to put the stamp set away, it popped into my mind the little girl would be the cutest little witch. (OOOH IDEA! I should have masked the bird and added a cat…maybe next time). This time I thought she could be sitting on a fence. I have to say this is my favourite of all four cars. The idea just came together effortlessly…although she really does need a black cat, doesn’t she? lol Maybe next time! (Edited to add: Tell me she wouldn’t look super cute as a witch with GREEN skin!!)

ACK!! Kylie, your array of cards featuring Gorguss in a variety of ‘poses’ and sporting a variety of outfits, is breath-taken-away amazing! Yes, you did have a moment of ‘silly attitude’ – and I’m delighted you set it aside to create these fabulous beauties! The last one is ‘spook-tacular’ in every way…in awe of the setting, the witch hat, the ‘eerie’ night sky…WOW!

I’ve been sitting here for a few minutes looking at the details of each of your cards…brilliant coloring. BRILLIANT ideas; wire, stairs, brick wall, fence (with the hat and broom!!). Can’t wait to see cats and green witchy skin! You really should post everyday… your cards are stunning. And I’m sure you can find a challenge or two for these sweeties!! Love them!!! xoxo
