Happy Birthday Ben!

by Kylie

Hi Everyone,

My sweet brother-in-law celebrated his birthday this past weekend. I thought I would share the card I made for him. It’s a simple little card using Paper Smooches stamps. I love the Chubby Chums stamp set and it crossed my mind that the dog would look *adorable* if he were carrying a “happy birthday” sign. There was always the possibility that he might look a little odd but I decided to give it a go anyway and I have to say I *LOVE* this look. A few more ideas are now pinging through my brain (love this phrase, thanks Bev)! In fact, I am going to make another card right now using the same dog (as I have prepared a few and they need to be used!).

Oh, and here’s the card…

Happy Birthday Materials used: Stamps - Chubby Chums, Hullabaloo, Party Posse (Paper Smooches); Cardstock - American Crafts; Designer Paper - 6x6 Paper Pad - Surprise! (BoBunny); Sugardot Stickers - Everyday Vintage (Prima); Copic Markers and Distress Ink.

On the inside of the card, I attached a white panel and a border of matching patterned paper just to finish it off.

Edited to add: Just finished another card. Yay me! lol If you think the eye of the little pooch looks a little odd, this is because the glossy accents hasn’t quite dried (can someone say impatient? lol) and was wanting to droop while it was standing up during the photography session. It has settled down now that it is lying flat.

Here I am, late again! Soooo sorry. You’ve made a sweet pair of little pup cards — love them. And I love the reds in them! Very party-like. Echoing the other ladies, the happy birthday sign actually being held by the party dog, is brilliant! My brain just asked why I hadn’t come up with something so clever!!! LOL. Keep ’em comin’ Kylie, just love seeing your cards! hugs

Okay, a little “how darn cute are these!” escaped my lips when I say your fabulous creations here, Kylie! You’re responsible for my ‘inside voice’ transforming to ‘outside’ with nearly every card you make! Oh well, people who hear me may define me as loopy (they wouldn’t be entirely wrong *grin*), but such adorable-ness and talent should not, unspoken, go! I imagine your brother-in-law quite loved his PS doggie – and how brilliant are you to extend the stamp! Those little paws peeping over the sign’s edge are super sweet! Yep, you’re working even more and more magic with your PS goodies! Keep them a-coming…Hugs~c

Happy birthday to Ben! 😀

Like Savannah, I just love the way you extended the pup. It’s such a clever idea! It makes the puppy look almost like he’s on his tippy toes. I also love the Bo-Bunny patterned paper. I’ve bought it recently and was on the lookout for some cool ideas and combinations that use it. 🙂
