Best Wishes

Hi Everyone,

Ever have one of those days when things seem to go wrong from the time you wake up? Today was one of those days for me. Nothing overly bad, just little annoyances. And just when I thought the corner had been turned, the card I had almost finished colouring ended up with a huge splash of ink across the image – my own fault, of course. Oh well, it happens. I put that one aside, not sure if it can be salvaged at this stage, and decided to CASE a card I had made a few weeks ago.

I love this image from Penny Black (although, I think there is yet to be a Penny Black design which I don’t love, especially when it comes to these cute little critters!) I kept the card very simple as the image is just so pretty. I painted the design using the distress markers from Ranger. I just cannot stop using them – favourite colouring medium at the moment. Had a bit of trouble with the mouse so I might try it again. Other than that, it is just a nice sweet little greeting card.

Best Wishes Materials used: Stamps - It's Your Day! 1462K (Penny Black), Simply Said, Summer Groves (Paper Smooches); Cardstock - American Crafts, Knights; Distress Ink, Distress Markers and 6x6 Paper Pad - Serendipity (Basic Grey).

An absolutely adorable, sweet greeting card, indeed! Yes, the critters are cute, but it’s your colouring and ‘artful’ arranging, that brings them to life. Magical and marvelous! Ranger Distress Markers – you have my attention! I’m now scouting those out, alongside the Tombows. I’m such a newcomer to crafting, so I’ll ask your advice: if you had to choose a set of one or the other, which would it be? (I’m leaning toward Distress markers…). Oh, and another ‘can you tell I’m a novice’ question: what kind of ink do you use with Distress markers? Thanks so much for brightening my day even more!!

Oh you really are too kind! Thank you!

Pick just one? Oh, that is a most difficult question, C! lol I guess, today, I would probably go for the Distress Markers but really both types of markers are different and offer different benefits. If I am not embossing then I tend to stick with StazOn ink for both the Distress Markers and the Tombows.

Have a great day! 🙂
