Enjoy your day (Lawn Fawn)

by Kylie

Hi Everyone,

Yikes! Has it really been so long since I last blogged? I haven’t been idle creatively during this blogging hiatus. I’ve spent time colouring and playing (and organising!) rather than actually turning anything into finished projects.

On Friday I said to a friend of mine that this weekend I was actually going to finish a card! I even knew from the outset what I was going to make. So here we are at Sunday night and I have a pile full of coloured images and ONE card! The card is very much a “Kylie” card as I have been wanting to make a few more cards in this style. I guess that is a bit of a warning that there will be more like this to come. lol

Whilst so many in the cardmaking realm have switched their attention to Christmas, Halloween and Thanksgiving, I have actually been wanting to make a card using Lawn Fawn’s Happy Easter stamp set. The little bunnies look so happy and I wanted to create a little scene with them frolicking in a spring or autumn setting. Having decided to have white bunnies and a white picket fence, the card became quite flat so I switched out my bunnies in favour of two cute puppies from the Critters at the Dog Park stamp set. The bunnies are waiting here patiently for their turn to shine on another card.

Here’s the card…

Enjoy Your Day Materials used: Stamps - Critters at the Dog Park, Critters from the Past, Critters on the Farm, Let's Play and Starry Backdrops (Lawn Fawn); Dies - Project Life (Becky Higgins); Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables (Lawn Fawn); Cardstock - American Crafts, Knights; Distress Ink; Copic Markers and Wink of Stella.

Oh and tip of the day, if you are a fan of the Wink of Stella glitter brushes (and who isn’t?!) make sure you check which colour of brush you are using before you start colouring. I picked up what I thought was the clear glitter brush to colour the butterfly, heart and flowers. I couldn’t work out why they then turned a milky colour. Seems I grabbed the white glitter brush instead of the clear. Oops!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and as the card says – Enjoy your day!

Happy Stamping!

KYLIE!! Naughty me for not commenting early, but for some odd reason, all your posts appeared in my Feedly just this morning! So much for doing an upgrade…I had no idea a backlog would happen! On the plus side…gallery walk! Woo hooo! And what a marvelous starting point with those two darling pups, out for a walk at an off-leash park…absolutely darling! The little schnauzer reminds me of my darling Casey who I had many years ago! She came home at 5 weeks old (I know…a baby baby!), weighed all of barely .75 of a pound and was a bundle of energy from the get-go! Love schnauzers…hoping to get another one of these days, when we have a proper yard! Happy jigging off to see your next card!

Such a definite Kylie card! I love it!!! I think the milky white on the flowers and butterfly looks kind of nice! Like a hazy summer day… I always love seeing your creations. I hope you’ll continue to share. 🙂

Oh good…you’re not dead…hahahahaha! I’ll settle for one card here. This is pretty darn cute too, if you ask me. It’s always fun to see what you’ve created. I love this happy little scene. First thing that caught my eye is that amazingly colored sky. Awesome colors. And look at those two little pooches…happy to be out on a Spring day. More killer coloring. Love those bitty flowers and the little heart too. The pink behind your sentiment is the perfect accent to the flowers and butterfly. Nicely done, my friend, nicely done. Now. More please!! : )
