Another from the vault

by Kylie

Hi Everyone,

I just spent AGES colouring in a very cute House Mouse image (third attempt!). I really don’t love what I have done. I nailed the mice (which used to be something I struggled with) but the background just didn’t work. Instead of soldiering on and finishing the card, I have put it aside for another day. The idea is there, I just know it, but it just hasn’t come to the forefront as yet. So, today, I am digging into the vault for something to share and have drawn out a favourite card using Lawn Fawn stamps. I went through a phase where I made a lot of cards similar to this one. They were so fun to make. I thoroughly enjoy colouring the little critters and setting the scenes. It is one of my favourite things to do.

So here’s the card…

Happy Birthday Materials used: Bon Voyage, Critters in the 'Burbs, Critters in the Forest, Happy Haunting, Home Sweet Home (Lawn Fawn) Sentiment Sampler (Paper Smooches); Distress Inks, Distress Markers, Cardstock - American Crafts, Knight, Designer Paper - Unknown; Glossy Accents (Ranger) and Pearls (doodlebug design).

I’m off to try again…or make a cuppa…think the cuppa might win! lol Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Happy Stamping!

Snail pace commenting again…boo to blogger! Anyway, I ‘think’ this one may stick, so: squeeeeal of delight with this card and your ‘featured doggie” with its quite stylish pearl collar! I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned that I used to be “mom” to two miniature schnauzers, who were such lights in my life! Your pup here reminds me so much of my Casey, who was salt-and-pepper-ish! When she had a hair-do, a stripe of dark grey would appear on her back (likely the result of her father, who was pure black), so I’d call her my little skunk! They were such fun!! Love this scene – spring-y, bright, cheerful – and the birds and mushrooms are charming special touches. Happy sighhhhs…for your dazzling card and the sweet memories you sparked! We watched Weather Network last night for a bit – saw scenes of a crazy ‘ceiling of cloud’ that rolled across Sydney. Hope you are safe and away from such ‘scary’ events!! Lots of hugs, dear Kylie!

I can SO relate to the snail pace commenting at the moment, C, but in my case it is just because I am a snail. lol Well, not literally of course. Life gets in the way some times. I had remembered that you were a dog mum to miniature schnauzers and I am so thrilled they brought back happy memories of your little skunk. 🙂 Thank you for your lovely words. Your kind, sweet words never cease to brighten my day. Yes, I am in Melbourne – well away from that ceiling of cloud which rolled across Sydney. Very impressive vision, wasn’t it? hugs to you!!

Absolutely adorable! I love the little scene. I can see why you went through a “phase” and made several of these types of cards…they are just too cute! xx Becky

That is one sweet card! I absolutely love the dog, and the pearl on his collar is just genius! The entire card just says “spring, spring, spring!” which is something I’m so looking forward to – even with all the allergies from the pollen.

Thanks so much for sharing this! Seeing your cards always makes me feel inspired. 🙂
