Thanks!

Hi Everyone,

Is it terribly boring of me to show yet another Paper Smooches card? I just *LOVE* their stamps and seem to be using them a lot now that I am right back into the stamping zone. I can see this phase continuing for a while, especially since my new goodies will be here soon. Yay!

Oh I just read the Paper Smooches blog and they have a challenge to create something cute and fun to celebrate their 3rd anniversary. I’m not sure if this ticks the fun box but I think it ticks the cute box so I’m going to enter.

Here’s my card:

Thanks Materials used: Stamps - A Little Lovin, Cosmos, Simply Said, Summer Groves (Paper Smooches); Wise Dies - Clouds (Paper Smooches); Cardstock - American Crafts; Copic Markers; Distress Ink and Hero Arts Shadow Ink.

Can you see the background sky? This is the effect I was trying for on my Dad’s birthday card before I gave up. I need a bit more practice. And yes, I did fussy cut the fence. lol

I’m just loving stamping at the moment – even if I have nothing to show for it at the end of the time. It’s just so much fun!

Hope you are all having fun!

Happy Stamping!

Tire of your PS cards? No way! You keep those little gems a-coming, because they are absolutely adorable and inspiring! Your fussy-cutting of the images – especially the fence – is impressive! I agree that fussy-cutting is rather enjoyable: calming, relaxing, inexpensive therapy *grin*. My #1 ssue is that my cutting is sometimes wonky. Practice and practice…Your sky is ahhh-mazing!! Yes, indeed, my sweet friend, this is darling, delightful and full-on day-brightening!! How funny that we’re on a similar track with stamping. I think I missed learning – or rather, exploring – that aspect of card-making, as I plunged in with dies and patterned papers. Now, I’m sort of ‘going back to the beginning’ to try to hone some basics. I’ll never catch up with trends (splatters, mists, sponging) but that’s okay – a ‘well stamped’ card is sometimes all you need! Oh yes, I agree with Bev: scope out the fence die and if they don’t have one, some ‘hinting’ might be in order! Hugs~c

I remember reading a quote by a friend stating that she found cutting out letters for her scrapbooking to be relaxing and I thought she was crazy but nowadays, I can relate. I find fussy cutting relaxing too. Not as perfect as a die cut, that’s true, but that doesn’t bother me. 🙂 The sky was fun to create, I must say. Still have some finessing to do but…that’s okay. I think we are always on a journey with our creativity and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Don’t worry about trends – just do what makes you happy. Try a few things along the way if your interest is sparked but ultimately – do your own thing. 🙂

How cute is this?! Love that little bunny, and can’t believe you even fussy cut his carrots!! I’m pretty sure you should send this over to PS and tell them to make a die for that fence (if they haven’t already…). That sky is perfect. I’m going to study this so I can give it a try soon. Love this. : ) Bev

I actually quite enjoy fussy cutting (cannot believe I actually mean that too. Shhhhh, don’t tell anyone. lol) I wonder if they do have a die for the fence. I didn’t think to look. Must do that. lol Glad I inspired you a bit! 🙂 Thanks as always for your lovely and thoughtful words, Bev! They mean so much to me! Hugs!!

This is so gorgeous, Kylie! I love, love, LOVE the sky. Such an amazing soft look! It’s like that perfect summer day where the temperature is just right.

The image being slightly off-center is brilliant. It gives a really charming look, like someone looking through one of the Alice-in-Wonderland topsy-turvy windows. And with the bunny in the picture, it just really sells the idea. 🙂

Thanks Elle! I really like the idea so I am going to play around with it a bit more. I love your phrase about Alice in Wonderland – that is so fantastic – thank you! 🙂
