Best Fishes

by Kylie

Hi Everyone,

As much as I love stamping (and we all know I LOVE stamping!), I also enjoy making cards using other mediums such as stickers, digital kits, die cuts and the like. There are some totally adorable digital products on the market and one of my favourite places to find wonderful digi kits is Kay Miller Designs. The designs are totally adorable! The card below uses the Blue Lagoon Page kit from Kay Miller Designs. I did hand cut out all the shapes but if you have a die cutting machine you could get it to do all the work for you.

Oh, your fishes are just darling! Colourful, bright and the ‘dimension’ all make for delightful eye-candy! I used to rely on digi images when I first started making cards, well before I learned the concepts of ‘fussy-cutting’. You can imagine the ‘grrrr’ moments as I tried to fit images so they’d fit ‘onto’ cards, instead of cutting and adding them ‘to’ cards. Oh, the learning has been immense, especially when my starting point was incredibly ‘d-uhhhh’!! I’m sharing two cards soon on my post: one watercoloured with distress markers (I’m in love!!), and one with dye inks (didn’t know that could be done, but I did it!). I still need hours upon hours more practice, but I’ve made a start…thanks to YOU!! SSS is having a 20% off sale, so I many *need* to buy another 6 distress marker set…
Have a fantastic day, Kylie!!

Hi Carol,
Thanks so much! I LOVE the images from Kay Miller Designs. Makes it so easy to make quick and easy cards. I don’t do a lot of them these days. One of my girlfriends makes stunning digi cards. I think your initial way of using digi images was probably easier. Fussy cutting can be frustrating too. Actually, I used to hate it but now I find it kind of therapeutic! Weird. lol My next stop is your blog. I cannot wait to see your creations using the distress markers. So thrilled you are using them and ENJOYING using them too. 🙂 Ooh sales are fun. I *need* a few things from SSS too so better go check out that sale. Hope you have a fantastic day too, thanks, C!
