Don’t you love it when you come across a stamp set, or sets, which just seems to offer soooo many different possibilities? I do! The Mama Elephant stamp sets I have seem to be providing me with so many ideas that I almost don’t know where to start. Every time I sit down to create my mind spins with all the possibilities. I managed to settle myself down to finally create a card to share. Yay! And I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t say that I have a few ideas about how to change this card up in the future.
I was playing with the Up and Away set by Mama Elephant as I thought they would make a perfect birthday card to fulfil the requirements of their August challenge – Watercolouring and Birthdays (in which I am entering this card). As I was stamping out the balloons it hit me that they almost looked like balls in a ball pit…and from there I had no choice but to make a ball pit. I pictured children playing in a ball pit on their birthday. So cute! And from there a simple card was born. I watercoloured all the elements with Distress Markers and assembled them all together. In this case, I decided against masking the design (I tested it out) – I wanted it to have lots of texture like a real ball pit would. After watercolouring the children I added little smiley faces as I’m sure they would have been having lots of fun. lol
Here’s my card…
And my other ideas would be to have other critters playing in the ball pit too. I like the idea of stamping out a sentiment which says “Bazinga” (a The Big Bang Theory reference – this scene makes me laugh a lot!) or “It’s Your Birthday, have a ball!”…something like that.
Thanks for visiting today!
