Hi Everyone,
As you all know Lawn Fawn make some of the cutest stamps and it is a sheer delight to create with them. The Year Five stamp set made it onto my *must have* list as soon as it was released and I couldn’t wait to have it in my hot little hands and start creating with it.
The design for this card popped into my head the minute I saw the stamp set. Originally, I had pictured the middle panel sitting on a white card base but when I placed it down it looked rather bland. I decided it needed a pop of colour! The Doodlebug Design paper pad (Sunkissed) I had used for the water had a lots of really bright background sheets and I thought I might try the beachball/sun page. There were a couple of reasons for choosing this paper – firstly, it matched the existing paper choices. lol Secondly, you might recall from my haul video I mentioned I really struggle using such busy patterned papers and I thought it was time to see if I could make it work. I think it works reasonably well.
(Oh, and you might also remember from the haul video where I purchased the foam paper to use to pop up my images instead of the mounting tape. Turns out I prefer the mounting tape. I can definitely understand why people might like to use the foam but at this stage, once I have used up the foam paper, I am going to be sticking with (no pun intended) the foam mounting tape.)
Here’s the card…

Have an OTTERLY lovely birthday
Materials used: Stamps – Year Two, Year Five (Lawn Fawn); Dies – Spring Showers, Ocean Waves Borders (Lawn Fawn), Pierced Rectangle Stax (MFT); Designer Paper – Sunkissed (Doodlebug Design); Cardstock – Knights Smooth, American Crafts, Doodlebug Design; Wink of Stella; Distress Inks; Copic Markers and Enamel Stickers – Blue (Francheville).
I hope you enjoyed this card. I’m off to use this same stamp set in a one layer card… well, I say one layer but you all know that I rarely do true one layer cards. Wish me luck!
Happy Stamping!
