Cards Paper Smooches Stamping The Greeting Farm

Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a very merry Christmas and that 2015 brings you good health, happiness, love and lots of crafty goodness!

I’ve had some time off work over the Christmas/New Year period and managed to squeeze in some creating time which has been WONDERFUL! I’d love to retire and create full time! How amazing would that be! Anyway…

Last year I signed up for The Greeting Farm’s Super Secret Stamp Club for October/November/December. Being an international customer meant that my stamps would ship as one but not until November. Unfortunately this meant that when they finally arrived it was AFTER Halloween (all three stamps featured a girl with a skull hair ribbon) and right in the middle of the lead up to Christmas. No time to play! So it was very exciting when I sat down earlier and got to pull out these new stamps. I had never used The Greeting Farm stamps before but have admired them for a while.

First up was “Lavender” (SSSC No. 011) and I stamped her a few times and just coloured! I started with fairly traditional colours and then branched out a little with the hair colour. When designing the cards, I made two which worked with the skull in the hair bow but then decided I need to make the most out of the stamp and to use it in a different way. You know I love to create a scene card too and “Lavender” just cried out to be placed in a number of different settings. I’ll share some of my other designs in the next couple of days.

Here’s card one…

I grabbed the image I had coloured last – one with unusual hair colouring and decided to place her in a dark woods. I decided against a sentiment as it doesn’t really need one. I can always add it later if the need arises. I also added an extra bow and only secured it in the centre – looks very cute! The skull and all of the trees are coated with glossy accents. Love this look!

Lavender
Materials used: Stamps – Lavender SSSC No. 011 (The Greeting Farm), Happy Haunting (Lawn Fawn), Autumn Groves, Hooties (Paper Smooches); Copic Markers; Distress Ink; Cardstock – American Crafts, Knight Smooth; Glossy Accents (Ranger) and Wink of Stella.

Here’s card two…

I wanted to vary the above design just a little. I left the moon off, added a rocky path and went with the blue haired Lavender. No sentiment again this time but it can always be added later.

Lavender
Materials used: Stamps – Lavender SSSC No. 011 (The Greeting Farm), Texture Clear Stamp Rocks (KaiserCraft), Autumn Groves, Hooties (Paper Smooches); Copic Markers; Distress Ink; Cardstock – American Crafts, Knight Smooth; Glossy Accents (Ranger) and Wink of Stella.

So, they’re more than a little late for Halloween (or super early! lol) but I do think that they could be used at anytime…for the right person! I’ve coloured up another dark background and now I’m tempted to go and make another “Lavender” card. lol

Cards Lawn Fawn Stamping There She Goes Clear Stamps

Hi Everyone,

As I still had the Hauntingly Delightful stamp set from There She Goes Clear Stamps on my desk as well as some offcuts of paper from my previous cards, I decided that I might as well make another card in this series. There She Goes Clear Stamps really did have the cutest of images. Such a shame they are no longer in business.

Anyway, today’s card is a hybrid of the previous two cards I have shared (see here and here). Super simple. I didn’t want the sentiment to stand out too much as some people might take offence. I see it as a bit of fun and would pick my recipient very carefully. lol

Bite Me
Materials used: Stamps – Hauntingly Delightful (There She Goes Clear Stamps), Happy Haunting (Lawn Fawn); Dies – Circle (Sizzix), Spooky Trail, Spooky Tree (Silhouette); Cardstock – American Crafts, Doodlebug Design; Designer Paper – The Bewitched Stack (DCWV); Distress Inks; and Copic Markers.

It has turned cold here today (we had 31°C on Friday and then storms with hail yesterday. It’s only 10°C today and should only reach 16°C as a maximum. Typical Melbourne weather!). I’m forgoing my planned drive to the beach and think I might stay tucked up inside…and maybe, just maybe, do some creating! 🙂

Birthdays Cards Lawn Fawn Paper Smooches Stamping

Another from the vault

Hi Everyone,

I just spent AGES colouring in a very cute House Mouse image (third attempt!). I really don’t love what I have done. I nailed the mice (which used to be something I struggled with) but the background just didn’t work. Instead of soldiering on and finishing the card, I have put it aside for another day. The idea is there, I just know it, but it just hasn’t come to the forefront as yet. So, today, I am digging into the vault for something to share and have drawn out a favourite card using Lawn Fawn stamps. I went through a phase where I made a lot of cards similar to this one. They were so fun to make. I thoroughly enjoy colouring the little critters and setting the scenes. It is one of my favourite things to do.

Cards Lawn Fawn Stamping

Lawn Fawn Love

Hi Everyone,

Lawn Fawn is in the middle of their July Inspiration week. I LOVE their designs a lot but I think you can tell that! lol I love the way they launch their new products too. Sometimes when you see a design you can only think of one way to use it. In the videos they share, which are always so positive and happy, Lawn Fawn often provides multiple ideas for using their products.

I could actually share quite a few variations of this card. I’ve made a LOT recently! It’s so relaxing putting these scenes together, changing a few features here and there. I love colouring all the images too – very fun! I decided not to add a sentiment to this card for now. It’s nice to have a few blank designs at the ready.

Remember the little cat stamp from yesterday? He is so fun to colour! I have now amassed a little pile of coloured images. They are so darling! They’ll be good to have on hand for when I need to quickly whip up a card.

Hi everyone,

Today has been one of those days where I just haven’t been able to make the time to create. I miss it! On the positive side, I do have another card from the vault to share today.

As regular readers know, I love the gorgeous critters from Lawn Fawn! I love colouring the critters and creating different scenes. Over the past couple of weeks I have made a LOT of variations of this card. I’ll be sure to share more as the weeks pass.

Hi Everyone,

Happy Friday! Today’s card is from the vault as I haven’t had time to make anything new. I’ve had the Critters on the Farm stamp set from Lawn Fawn for a while but hadn’t really done anything with it. I’m not sure why as the designs are simply delightful. Now that I have made one thing I know I will reach for this stamp set again and again. It’s just a simple little greeting card – a bit of fun!

You’re a Good Egg!

Sometimes inspiration strikes in a most unlikely way…I had just finished this scene card (yes, another one!) and I thought to myself that the clouds and sun look like an egg.

Birthdays Cards Lawn Fawn Paper Smooches Stamping

Another Lawn Fawn Birthday Card

Once I design a card I like I tend to want to make duplicates of it but they always end up looking slightly different. If it is a scene card, I might use different animals, or add/subtract the sun or clouds, or change the orientation. Sometimes I add dimension; other times the design remains quite flat. It’s fun mixing and matching. Here’s one of my designs which I really like at the moment and which you might see repeated in various ways over the coming weeks and months. This card features some of my favourite Lawn Fawn stamps. Yes, I seem to be a bit of a groupie!

Happy Birthday, Angie!

Tomorrow is my sweet friend Angie’s birthday. Angie and I became friends through our mutual interest in stamping a lot of years ago now. We used to scrapbook together regularly until she moved to another state. Thanks to the internet we still chat every day. I always remember Angie’s birthday. I always make her a card. I NEVER remember to post it until the actual day. I was determined that this year would be different. I made her card about four weeks ago. I emailed myself a reminder to post her card to her over the weekend (it takes about three days to reach her) and here we are, the night before, and her card is still sitting on my bench waiting to be posted. I am so sorry, Angie! I thought I might share it here to surprise her in case she stopped by. Happy Birthday, Angie!
