Using up scraps!

by Kylie

Hi Everyone,

I had (and still have! lol) a few off cuts sitting on my desk so just whipped up another card. It’s nothing special and I have no reason for making it other than I felt like it. lol Which reminds me….what do you all do with the cards you make just for fun? I have a growing pile and I really don’t know what to do with them all. Some I keep for birthdays and thank you’s but others…they just sit in the pile. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Here’s the card for today. Nothing fancy but a few scraps were used so that is a good thing.

Love Materials used: Stamps - A Little Lovin, Simply Said (Paper Smooches); Patterned Paper - Poolside (Party with Amy Locurto by Pebbles); Cardstock (American Crafts); Distress Ink - Antique Linen; Spellbinders - Circles, Cuttlebug and Copic Markers.

Happy Stamping!

What a sweet card! I love your coloring, and the patterns are just so much fun. It looks to me like a great spring card, where everything is starting and growing new.

I admit that I haven’t really thought about what to do with all the fun cards I’ve created. So far, I’ve just been sending them to friends and family here and there. I just box up a set of cards for a few occasions and send them off. But it might be fun to also look at other ways of sharing. It certainly beats having them sit in a box in my closet. 🙂

You are so sweet, Elle! Thank you!

I agree! These creations need to be shared and I am sure someone, somewhere will benefit. 🙂

Just darling. This is just a perfect new baby girl card! Love that floral paper, and the bitty square of polka dots. Since my scrapboxes have been multiplying while I’m asleep, I’m going to have to go on one of my ‘nothing but scraps’ diet pretty soon. I love coming to visit at your blog. Always something delightful in store here!! Bev

Oooh I never thought about it as a new baby card but you are right, it could be! Thanks!! 🙂 Maybe we should have our own little challenge – make a card using nothing but scraps! Photograph the scraps before we start and then make a card. Could be fun! 🙂 Thank you so much for the lovely words, Bev! Hope you are having a wonderful day! hugs!

Oh, those snuggling elephants just melt my heart – and the love word, with the heart, just adds to the sweetness. So absolutely darling – and what a fabulous way to use up scraps (which reminds me…I have a pile that needs my attention! The messiness is almost driving me to distraction!). I’ll second Angie’s suggestion about the cards heading to charities; your creations would bring in fabulous donations!!

Aren’t they just adorable, C? Paper Smooches continues to put out the cutest designs! My pile of scraps has just exploded. I really do need to delve into them more often instead of creating more. haha I go through and do a tidy up and then feel more inspired so I hope the same works for you too. hugs!

Hi Kyles love the cards you have been making, I have a suggestion for your spare cards, ask charities if they would like them to sell and then they can make some money for the charity through your donation. 🙂
just a thought

Thanks, Angie! That’s an idea I hadn’t thought of. Might look into it. 🙂
