Some days I sit and colour image after image after image because I find it fun and relaxing. Some days these same images just jump onto cards and other days…not so much. It’s amusing to me because I know that at another point in time I won’t have any issues at all. As a result sometimes the stamped images get put aside for another day. Creativity really is a funny beast.
This gorgeous stamp from Penny Black was so fun to colour and as I was colouring it I had lots of ideas as to how I might put it onto a card. However, I then started to overthink it…why do we do that? I started mentally comparing the cards I have been making lately and thought, oh no, this is going to look exactly the same. What a way to dry up the creativity well! I was determined not to give in though. I finally settled on this design but I know that tomorrow…or the next day…or maybe even next week…I will think of something I would have liked much more. Does anyone else do this? I guess it gives me an excuse, not that I need one, to get the stamp out and play some more. lol

I am definitely going to play with this stamp again! I think I can do so much better! lol

Oh, how darling your wee hedgehog is, plucking away at its flower petals, with that sweet hint of a smile! From where I stand, your creativity seems in high gear! I so understand what you mean with creativity here one day, and whooosh, gone the next; in my case, it’s appears often in what I ‘visualize’ creating, and when I finally settle down to work…well, you know the story! Easier ‘pictured’ than done!! I’m experiencing that right now, trying to create a card for Summer Camp. I think I”m too hung up in ‘cas-ing’ the samples rather than going my own way! Gahhh….still, unpacking and playing with my crafty goodies – old and new (plenty o’ those!) – is always a blast! Hope you’re having a great day/evening!

Oooh I am totally the same! I woke up thinking about a card design (is that pathetic? lol) but when I sat down to create the idea….bam! Gone! lol I’ll have to stop by and see what you’ve been doing! 🙂
