Hello, I Love You

by Kylie

Hi Everyone,

Does this ever happen to you? You have ideas flowing through your mind on how to use a particular stamp but when you sit down to turn them into reality, you just cannot get them to work? It happened to me yesterday/today. I just couldn’t get the ideas in my head to work out on paper. I tried a few times and eventually decided it was time to walk away and try something else. Will tackle the project another day.

On my desk I still had one stamped and coloured image of the hedgehog from the “Paint the Town” set by Penny Black, Thought I might as well make it into a finished card and let me tell you, I *love* how this card, and the following one, turned out. A great feeling after my earlier creative issues. lol I had recently purchased the Love Quarters template from KaiserCraft and had been dying to use them. Seemed like the perfect time to do so.

Here’s the card…

I Love You Materials used: Stamps - Paint the Town (Penny Black), The Big, The Bold and the Happy (Winnie & Walter); Cardstock - American Craft; Knighst Smooth; Stencil - KaiserCraft; Dies - Die-namics Blueprints 8 (My Favourite Things); Copic Markers, Hero Arts Shadow Inks; Mr Huey's Colour Mist - Shine and Wink of Stella.

As I wasn’t really sure of my colour choices I ended up making another card at the same time but this time I kept it even more simple using word stamps from Winnie & Walter.

I really want to keep playing with that template – how pretty are those flowers! Imagine the colours you could use. So fun!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you are having a great weekend!

Happy Stamping!

I *love* how both your cards turned out, Kylie…and I’ve spotted your sweet little signature hearts on both! Cutie-patootie hedgehog looks quite comfy in his field of roses, as does the marvelous W&W sentiment (aren’t their products fabulous? I’m obsessed with them!). That stencil…oh my! Ever so pretty – and you say there are four designs to choose from? We know what that means…please, please, create something to showcase the remaining three *grin* Yes, indeed…I truly LOVE these!

I never realised that I had a signature heart until you pointed it out a while ago. It’s true, isn’t it? So many of my cards do feature a heart or too. lol W&W are amazing and I have been LOVING the gorgeous work you have been doing with their products. I will try and make some more cards using the other designs. I’ve got soooo many things I need to use. I think I need to set a limit. haha big hugs!

Oh, gosh, that happens to me all the time! I’ll have an idea, but when it comes to pulling it off, it just doesn’t seem right. And if I try to push through it, I end up with a card that I don’t like.

I totally agree about walking away and trying it another time. Maybe then it will have that moment where it just clicks perfectly. 🙂

Love both of your cards!!! That template/stencil is gorgeous! I might keep an eye out for it. 😀

It’s so frustrating, isn’t it, Elle?! Sometimes you just need to step away. I still haven’t gone back to that idea though. Oops!

The stencil is from Kaisercraft and it has four designs on one 12×12 sheet. I just cut it apart to make it easier to use (and store!).
