Hippo Hooray

by Kylie

Hi Everyone,

I confess to being a bit of a baseball fan. Go Mariners! With the weather being a little on the dreary side, and a head being a little on the sinusitis side, there’s no better option than to hibernate indoors and watch the game. Great win today too. Woohoo! The idea was to create while I watched my boys but I spent more time watching the screen than my creative project. Eventually I buckled down and started working on my entry into the latest Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge. This week is their Anything Goes challenge – which is a favourite of mine.

For the challenge this week I wanted to get back into making scenes with their adorable stamps. I hadn’t used the hippo stamp from the Zoo Crew set so decided that would be the way to go. My original idea was based on a more grungy idea but as time passed by it became more of a cutesy card. No complaints though, I’m very happy with it. I realise it is VERY similar to an older card of mine. I inadvertently CASEd myself. lol

Hippo Hooray Materials used: Stamps - Cuteasaurus, Zoo Crew (Paper Smooches); Dies (Lawn Fawn); Cardstock - American Crafts, Knight; and Distress Stickles - Rock Candy (Ranger).

LOVE baseball! Every season, my husband and I choose our top teams from each division, and whoever has the most accumulated wins at the end, *wins* a decadent ice cream treat of his/her choice! The last four years, I’ve done the selecting (because I *research* my teams before choosing – love Sports Illustrated magazine for their ‘analyses’ and ‘predictitions). Once play-offs roll around – same performance. Nothing like a little ‘family friendly betting…’ Hope you’re feeling much better and that the weather has improved! Now, this card of yours: AWESOME! Love the hippo and little bird; love the scene you’ve created; love the fussy-cutting (I’m in awe!) and LOVE X 10000000 your colouring (doubly in awe!)! I’ll echo Bev: you are my colouring inspiration!! I really need to curb my spending of late, but…have you seen the new PS dies for the Chubby Chums set. It’s taking all the willpower I can muster “not” to press send on my order….and I feel the will weakening…weakening…
Thank you sooooo much for your comments on my blog; your warm, encouraging words always brighten my day immensely! Looking forward to what you’ll be sharing next…

Oh, that sounds super fun. Nothing wrong with a bit of friendly competition. 🙂 Go you! And *thank you* too for your sweet and encouraging comments. Between you and Bev, my head has grown to at least twice its normal size! hehe I can totally relate, PS has quite a few things I *must* have. lol I do have an order coming from them but just stamps. I do have my eye on some of their new stamp sets and that notebook die….I think it *must* be mine. haha Happy days to you! 🙂

GO CUBS!! Nice to see that you’re a baseball fan too!! It’s my favorite sport, even more than American Football. And your card is adorable! Love the background stamping, and the the little pink heart. That heart just pops! More great coloring…I really must work harder at it; you are my coloring muse! Have a good day, and I can’t wait to see what you post next!

I *love* baseball. Used to go to games regularly in my youth. It’s on the bucket list to see a game over in the USA. 🙂 Thank you for your sweet comments! I think my head inflated a little bit, okay a lot, when I read you consider me your colouring muse. You are way too sweet! big hugs!
